Haranir names - World of Warcraft
This name generator will give you 10 random haranir names fit for the World of Warcraft universe.
The haranir are native to Harandar, an underground cave overgrown with a bioluminescent jungle. The roots of all World Trees converge here, and it is where the haranir lived in secret. Haranir were described by the developers as "not really elves, not really trolls", and they indeed look like a mixture of the two with other elements added.
They have small tusks, bat-like ears, clawed hands and feet, and stand tall like elves. They're able to shapeshift into bats, which hints at a druidic or shamanistic heritage, and is but one mark of their close ties to the earth. They protect the world tree roots diligently, and are meant to do so in utmost secrecy.
Haranir names are a mixture of melodic and guttural tones, oftentimes with an apostrophe in the center. Male names are usually more guttural than the harsher sounded female names, but this isn't the strictest of rules. Male names do tend to end in a consonant more than female names, and of all the known names, only male names seem to be short, single syllable in length at times.
Haranir don't seem to have surnames. There are a small handful with a second name (either Shul'ka or Zur'ashar) and they seem to be tribe names based on the items also being named after these two. I've left such names out for now, but perhaps in the future more NPCs will follow this naming convention as well.
