This dwarf name generator will give you 10 names that will generally fit the duaergars in the Dungeons & Dragons universe.
Duergars, also known as gray dwarvers, are a darker, bleaker version of dwarves without any sense of joy or appreciation of beauty in their lives. This is the result of their subdugation by mind flayers, though they have since managed to escape their enslavement.
Despite the modifications made by the mind flayers, duergars consider themselves to be the true ideal dwarves. They strive to create and harvest not for the joy and happiness it brings other dwarves, but for the sole purpose of owning as many goods as possible.
Clans are everything to duergars, and those who fail to live up to the expectations of both their clan and duergar society as a whole are cast out. A show of kindness is often a reason for exile, as is a lack of greed or even cruelty at times. These outcasts are usually the ones a player might play, as well as the duargar players are likely to encounter in the world.
Duergar names differ little from regular dwarf names, with the exception of their clan names. Like their society, clan names are often bleek and hint at cruelty. Examples include Necksnapper, Battlegore, Doomfist and Firetamer. Though more mundane names, like Runehammer and Underearth are possible too.
