Tanuki names - Pathfinder
This name generator will give you 10 random names fit for the tanuki part of the Pathfinder universe.
Tanuki are shapeshifting, humanoid raccoon dogs with illusory magic powers they use almost exclusively to have fun. Pranks, practical jokes and any other jests they can throw at people, especially the high and mighty, are where they have the most fun. They themselves care little for the social norms and rules of such high and mighty folk, and prefer to live in the moment and humbly.
Tanuki are on the shorter end of humanoids, standing between 3 and 4 foot (90-120cm) tall. They're often rotund, fluffy, have big eyes and a big, bushy tail. They consider their tails to be the source of their powers, despite often being underdogs in any fight. Their generally round appearance makes them appreciate other round shapes, like the moon, too.
Tanuki names are Japanese. The official examples include: Ame, Chiyo, Chosuke, Hinata, Mari, Nao, Saya, Taro, Terao, Rei, Ichiro, Jiro, Saburo, Shiro, Satsuki, Mutsu, Nanami, and Hazuki. No surnames are listed, but since they're largely real names, I've included Edo era surnames in this generator.
