MegaMan, known as Rockman (Rokkuman) in Japan, is a Japanese video game franchise started in 1987. The latest release, at the time of writing this, was in August 2017. The franchise has sold over 30 million copies worldwide spanned over more than 50 games. The initial game's release was met with great reviews among critics and gaming fans alike.
In terms of names, things get a little tricky. There's a wide variety of names, but not all are consistent. The 3 most consistent ones are nicknames (Grey, Omega, Serpent, Zero), regular names (Samantha, Irene, Prometheus), and animal based names usually reserved for villains (Flame Mammoth, Magma Dragoon, Duckbill Mole).
