Azarketi, meaning "people of the sea" in their tongue, are a species of near-human with hydrophilic skin in tones ranging from soft pinks to greens, dark purples to browns, and other colors often found in corals. They usually have ridges on their head and neck, they have gills and webbed hands and feet, and more often than not have violet eyes.
Azarketi can be found across the ocean, though they're usually found in small, tight-knit communities where everyone knows and trusts each other. Some Azarketi seek out surface folks and may end up living in port towns and other waterfront communities.
Azarketi names come in two types: Nouns taken from nautical, weather and geographical terms, and regular names.
