Athamaru are large, fish-like beings who usually live near or among coral reefs within which they raise eels to be used as mounts, farm seaweed for food, create art from coral, and generally live quieter lives in smaller communities. Their communities are important to them, and each community has a different pheromone identity thanks to athamaru physiology. They use pheromones as communication and defensive tools, and those who master pheromone communication can convey complex ideas entirely chemically with other athamaru.
Athamaru names are three syllables long. The first of which denotes their community, and the last two their personal name. Official examples include Aussandor, Cayiel, Corlena, Mithae, Onteac, and Paquotal. You'll find plenty more in the generator below.
